First established in 1989, the Capitol Skating Fund is managed by a board of directors comprised of local figure skating enthusiasts, including national and international officials, skaters and skating parents. The board represents decades of experience in figure skating and has a vested interest in the growth and development of skating in the Washington region.
The board meets twice annually to act upon award applications. The board welcomes inquiries from qualified applicants.
The Capitol Skating Fund provides and disburses resources to programs that will maximize education, development and training opportunities designed to promote and strengthen the sport of figure skating in the metropolitan Washington, D.C. area.
